Since the opening of the rail-road in 1908 there was a train-station located in Wildflecken. With the erection of the military training area and camp in 1936, the station was altered to fit the new purposes. A new building was constructed, it still looks the same today.
The area around the station hasn't changed since 1938, from the loading area all goods have to be transported about 1 km (0.65 miles) uphill to Camp Wildflecken.
The symbol of Wildflecken is the sculpture of the "Woodcutter" at the train-station.
