This website would have been impossible without the help of Janie Micchelli. Janie who lives in Pennsylvania, USA, has a special interest in Wildflecken. Her parents were 'displaced persons' and spent several years at Camp Wildflecken. Janie did a lot of research in archives in the USA and uncovered a lot of facts and information; i.e. the pictures and stories from the Kathryn Hulme collection at Yale.

Adolf Kreuzpaintner, who runs the museum at Rhoen-Kaserne (what Camp Wildflecken is called today) and takes care of the Polish-cemetery, gave us permission to use photos from his archive and Walter Kömpel made some historic facts about the City of Wildflecken available for us.
Last but not least, to all those who contribute photos and stories of their experiences - a hearty thank you. We hope to make this site a source of information to those looking for some family-history and to those interested in learning about the 'displaced' and the organizations who helped resettle them.

Thank's for giving us free webspace and the free domainname
